ZENIT SUFFERS THIRD HARMLESS DEFEAT

Having secured the title last week against Ufa, Zenit had little interest into the away game against Amkar Perm for the second to last matchday of the season for the Russian League.

Shatov was the most dangerous man for the visitors in the first half along with Rondon, while Hulk was acting more like a midfielder passing the ball around. A couple of good chances from Tymoshchuk and Witsel didn’t bring the opener with Amkar’s first good chance being converted into a goal at the 38′ minute from Kolomeytsev’s set play.

Hulk tried harder in the second half to bring the equalizer with Rondon also missing good opportunities, the biggest one belonging to Shatov’s brilliant shot that shook Amkar’s post.

Perm clung to the three much needed points to stay above relegation zone while Zenit suffered their third defeat of the season.
