Zenit’s second friendly game in Qatar proved a lot tougher than the first (18-0 against Malia) as Qatar team Al Wakrah won 1-0 earlier in Doha.
Coach Andre Villas Boas was satisfied with the performance but not the result, as he tried different players and tactics throughout the game, evaluating his team’s level, a month ahead of their first Europa League game against PSV Eindhoven.
Axel Witsel played for the first 45 minutes as Zenit’s training camp in Qatar concludes in three days, with one more friendly scheduled on 21st January against Al Shahania.
