RONDON’S HAT-TRICK BRINGS 8/8

Zenit passed from Rostov with a comfortable win 0-5, keeping the clean sheet for yet another game in the Russian Premier League, sending a message to title rivals that this might be St. Petersburg’s year.

Salomon Rondon scored his first hat trick for the Blue-White-Sky blues on Saturday with two own goals by Xulo and Djakov forming the final score. Axel Witsel was at the bench as Villas Boas chose to protect the Belgian midfielder (slight injury).

Zenit are currently first with 24 points and a streak of 8 straight wins in the league, as they visit Anzhi for the Russian Cup on Wednesday 24th September.
