Belgium’s post-World Cup test against Australia was successful (2-0) ahead of UEFA’s Euro 2016 qualifying games in October.

Dries Mertens, Mirallas and Origi were in a good day causing trouble for “The Socceroos” defence as the Napolitan scored at the 17′ minute giving the early lead to Belgium. The Australians tried to react mainly with Tim Cahill but Courtois was steady keeping the clean sheet.

Sclessin stadium welcomed Axel Witsel for the second time in one month and he rewarded the fans that where eagerly waiting to see him back in Liege and in action.

Nacer Chadli who came in during the second half passed to Axel who beautifully controlled the ball and with a brilliant left-foot half-volley, landed the ball to rest at Ryan’s right post, doubling Belgium’s goals and remembering how it feels to score at his “home”.

Belgium’s first home game for the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers will be against Andorra (October 10th 2014) and three days later the Red Devils travel to Bosnia.
