URAL 0 ZENIT 2: SHATOV, YUSUPOV PUT ZENIT BACK ON TOP

Russian Premier League returned after the International break with Zenit travelling to Ekaterinburg to face FC Ural, looking to catch up -again- with Spartak Moscow at the top of the table.

Russian cold made it’s first appearance, with the players trying to warm up in the first minutes of game play. Both teams had trouble creating but it was Zenit who opened the score on their first real chance, as Giuliano danced through Ural’s defence, setting up Shatov who blasted it in from 14 yards with one touch (22′).

A couple of good saves from Lodygin kept the fragile one-goal lead for St. Petersburg and along with Yusupov’s goal at the 88′ minute, allowed Zenit to tie up again with Spartak, as Lucescu’s men now focus on Europa League and the away game vs Dundalk FC in Ireland.
