LOMBAERTS’ LAST MINUTE HEADER POLISHES ZENIT’S GAME

A last minute goal from Belgian defender Nico Lombaerts led to a 2-3 win for Zenit, on their first friendly game in Turkey against Polish champions Legia Warsaw.

Igor Smolnikov and Danny gave a two goal advantage for St. Petersburg with Sa’s penalty forming the 2-1 for the first half. Kucharczyk’s far post brick-shot was the highlight goal of the game, bringing teams to a level 2-2 at the 67′ minute.

Nico Lombaerts had the last word as his “buzzer-beater” goal, shaped the final 2-3 for Zenit, who have one more friendly scheduled against FC Bate Borisov in Antalya (Feb 1st).
