FIVE DIFFERENT SCORERS GIVE ZENIT COMFORTABLE AWAY WIN

Russian Premier League continued this weekend after the International break with Zenit giving their first away match of the season in Tula against Arsenal.

Lucescu’s squad had the initiative which came into fruition from Kokorin’s legs who found space at the edge of Tula’s box and with a low shot wrote the 1-0 at the 18′ minute.

Arsenal gained  ground and had a good chance with Lodygin denying the equaliser with a great save while a few good opportunities for Zenit didn’t produce the second one; until the 38′ minute. The Blue-white-sky blues cooperated with Witsel, Luciano and Dzyuba and the Russian netted in his first goal of the season with a low shot, 2-0 to Zenit for half-time.

Axel Witsel and co dominated the second half with Arsenal being merely a spectator as new signing Mac (65′ beautiful curved shot out of the box), Luciano (84′) and Kerzhakov (88′ penalty) gave a comfortable 5-0 win for St. Petersburg who climbed up to third position, four days before their opening game in Europa League against Maccabi Tel Aviv FC.
