BELGIUM READY FOR BALE’S WALES

Prior to facing Group’S B Euro 2016 qualifications leaders Wales, Belgium tested their shape against Iceland on a friendly match in King Baudouin stadium.

Axel Witsel almost gave the early lead to the Red Devils with his shot inside the box going wide with Thibaut Courtois earlier twice denying an Iceland goal.

After ten minutes of gameplay, Janujaj delivered into the box and second Zenit player Nicolas Lombaerts netted in a header opening the score for Marc Wilmots’ team.

Two minutes were enough for Iceland to react as Finnbogason’s header equalized the game instantly and have they been luckier could have turned the game by Vanden Borre’s almost own goal being saved by a busy Courtois.

A couple of great chances by Vertonghen, Janujaj and Benteke couldn’t bring the second goal with teams going to half time in a 1-1 draw.

Divock Origi and Romelu Lukaku (replacing Hazard and Dembele) brought that extra freshness in the attack with both scoring and with Thibaut again being present where needed, Belgium enjoyed a 3-1 win, four days before they face Gareth Bale and Wales.
