BEIJING RENHE ESCAPES HAIHE EDUCATION STADIUM WITH THREE POINTS

First Chinese Super League match day at home kicked off today at Haihe Education stadium for Axel Witsel and Tianjin Quanjian against Beijing Renhe with Paulo Sousa’s men trying to bounce back to winning ways after the Asian Champions League midweek defeat.

First opportunity  came from Pato’s effort (9′) but his right footed shot from outside the box was blocked; Anthony Modeste’s headed pass didn’t turned into an early lead for the home team.

Roles changed, the Frenchman almost turned to executioner but his right footed shot eight minutes later from the centre of the box just missed (16′ assisted by Alexandre Pato).

Tianjin had possession and the chances but  it was Beijing who with luck on their side broke the deadlock at the 42′ minute as Chu Jinzhao’s own goal sent the visitors to half time leading 0-1.

Task became harder three minutes into the second half, again with a bit of luck for Renhe with Cao Yongjing taking advantage of the deflection and his easy left footed shot from the centre of the box produced the 0-2 at the 48′ minute.

Tianjin pressured as clock was ticking and the solution came from Pato’s feet at the 93′ minute to net in a right footed shot to the bottom left corner.

There was simply no time left for Tianjin to grab at least a point and Paulo Sousa’s squad were introduced to their first home defeat for the new season.
