«Zenit’s» midfielder spoke about his Winter travels to Romania and the tasks ahead for the New Year.
— Judging by your great tan you were somewhere sunny these past two weeks. How did you spend your vacation?
— Oh yeah, it was great. At first I flew to Romania, to Brasov and then I spent Christmas with my family in Belgium and then went to Maldives. I spent a week there with Mimmo Criscito. It was really really great.
— What’s the secret that took you to Romania?
— I met my fiancé’s family — she’s from Romania and I hadn’t been there yet. I liked it.
— For everyone that went to the World Cup, this vacation was the first of the year. Was it special for you?
— Yeah, I really needed to relax. You know, just to clear my mind, including thoughts from the last match with Monaco. In the summer after the World Cup we only had 9 days so it was a long awaited break.
— «Zenit» has a match coming up against PSV. What do you think about them?
— I think it’s a good opponent for us. We should win both matches and move ahead. We have the needed qualities. It’s possible that the away match is going to be tougher, including the fact that it’s the first official match after the break. But we’ve already dealt with that, you remember how we hosted «Liverpool» and showed some good football then. So in whole the draw came out just fine.
— What are you predicting for yourself this year? What do you want to win, to do?
— We, of course, are obligated to win the Championship — that’s obvious. We also want to get as far as we can in the Europa League.
