UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE DRAW BRINGS BELGIUM, SWITZERLAND AND ICELAND IN SECOND GROUP OF LEAGUE A

The first ever Group stage draw for the new UEFA Nations League took place in Lausanne earlier today, as the Red Devils will face Switzerland and Iceland in Group 2 – League A.

 

The full schedule of the new Nations League:

September 6-8 2018: Matchday 1
September 9-11, 2018: Matchday 2
October 11-13, 2018: Matchday 3
October 14-16, 2018: Matchday 4
November 15-17, 2018: Matchday 5
November 18-20, 2018: Matchday 6

June 5-9, 2019: UEFA Nations League final
March 26-31, 2020: UEFA Euro 2020 play-offs

 

 

– What is the UEFA Nations League?

UEFA and its associations wanted more sporting meaning in national team football, with associations, coaches, players and supporters increasingly of the opinion that friendly matches are not providing adequate competition for national teams. The format of the UEFA Nations League will feature promotion and relegation. The 55 European national teams have been divided into four leagues in accordance with UEFA’s national association coefficient rankings on 11 October 2017.
