TIANJIN QUANJIAN GRAB THIRD PLACE OUT OF HEBEI CFFC HANDS

The goal on the last match day of the Chinese Super League for Axel Witsel and Tianjian Quanjian was only one: Win Guangzhou Evergrande and keep an ear to the Shandong Luneng vs Hebei CFFC match, hoping the former will prevent the latter from a win and three points.

Cannavaro’s men were on point, delivering, and with two goals in an hour of game play (Modeste 18′, Ke Sun 61′) remained on target, focused and grabbed the most needed away win, despite Feng’s goal at the 64′ minute.

Now everything was relied on Shandong Luneng’s players feet. And what a thriller of the game that was! Nine goals, Hebei CFFC chasing goals, equalising the game three times, but in the end leaving empty handed, as Shandong’s fifth destroyed all their hopes of finishing third.

Tianjin Quanjian have secured a place in the Asian Champions League qualifications and on their first year in the Chinese Super League, leave quite a mark with an outstanding home record of 10 Wins, 4 Draws and only 1 Loss while having the second best defence in the league.

Final table:

1. Guangzhou Evergrande*     64 pts
