Anthony Modeste’s double (18′, 57′) strike have sent Tianjin Quanjian and Axel Witsel to the group stages of the Asian Champions League. Sousa and his men beat Philippine side Ceres-La Salle at Tianjin Olympic Center to join the prestigious competition for the first time in their history.
Quanjian joins Group E where they will face South Korean side Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC, Hong Kong’s Kitchee SC and Kashiwa Reysol from Japan.
First game for Tianjin kicks off on February 13th, playing against Kitchee SC and about a month later (14/03) vs Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. Group stage concludes on 18/04 with Tianjin Quanjian vs Kashiwa Reysol.
